Quarterwave adds Fibocom GPS Modules to M2M Product Portfolio
Quarterwave Ltd, the wireless M2M and mobile communications specialist today announced the launch of Fibocom GPS modules to their growing portfolio.

HOOK, ENGLAND, December 14, 2011 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Using the SiRF Star IV chipset, Fibocom modules are designed for high performance combining a comprehensive set of features with ultra low power enabling the integration of location based services in to the growing number of applications requiring ultra sensitive GPS technology such as indoor location applications.

GPS modules offer 48 satellite channels and sensitivity down to -160dB allowing indoor tracking. Low powered with and a wide operating voltage, all of the units have a wide operating temperature of -40 to +85 degrees C, making the Fibocom modules perfect for industrial and M2M applications which require location based services.

Fibocom products offer design engineers a stable, ruggedised, industrial M2M platform ideal for use in low cost GPS applications and applications where reliability, low power and high temperature ranges are offered as standard.

With a range of modules sized just 16x12x3mm and with direct surface mount footprint, there are many options to accommodate the range of industrial applications being designed today.

Fibocom GPS modules use industry standard NMEA data output messages ensuring compatibility with existing GPS applications. SiRF's new Advanced Power Management (APM) features reduce power consumption further and include Trickle Power and Push to Fix modes capable of reducing power duty cycles down to just 190µA.
